Now more than ever, the Medical Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare system. They support researchers and physicians in the pursuit of detecting, diagnosing, and treating a multitude of diseases.

Beyond learning the basic techniques for collecting and processing laboratory samples, Medical Laboratory Technician program students receive valuable training in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, and serology.

Graduates of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program will be qualified to sit for national certification exams administered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT). Certification is not required to graduate but it may be of value depending on a studentâ€™s particular career goals. Faculty are available to advise students seeking such professional certifications.

Upon earning your associate degree, you will be prepared for entry-level lab tech positions in a variety of healthcare settings.
