Throughout our Medical Laboratory Science program, youâ€™ll perform and evaluate complex laboratory tests to help detect, diagnose, and treat a wide range of diseases. You will learn how to conduct chemical analyses of bodily fluids, such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid, and determine the normal or abnormal components of those samples.

Graduates of the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program will be qualified to sit for national certification exams administered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT). Certification is not required to graduate but it may be of value depending on a studentâ€™s particular career goals. Faculty are available to advise students seeking such professional certifications.

Upon certification, youâ€™ll be qualified for employment in various health care and laboratory settings, including hospitals, clinics, research and reference laboratories, and blood banks.
